Maude Island Retreat

Often referred as the "Galapagos of the North" the Queen Charlotte Islands are host to an abundance of Flora and Fauna and a thriving diversity of marine and wildlife not found elsewhere in the world. The Queen Charlotte Archipelago consists of some 1800 Islands with a total land area of 3820 square miles, measuring 156 miles North to South. Sandspit, located across Skidegate inlet, from Maude Island, has daily air service from Vancouver and Prince Rupert.

Maude Island can be accessed by boat, sea-plane or helicopter from Sandspit or Queen Charlotte City. Maude Island Retreat is located in Skidegate inlet some 400 miles from Vancouver, approximately 100 miles due West of Prince Rupert.

Property Situated on 17.2-acre site and over 2000 feet of oceanfront, on the South West corner of Maude Island, the property is affectionately called the "Sunny Spot" by the Haidas. The comfortable three bedroom main lodge was completed in 1994 m logos customized in Vancouver and shipped and assembled on site.

The main lodge is ideally situated to command a South Westerly Vista across Skidegate inlet. The lodge is further complemented with an efficient hot-water heating system, covered sun decks, hot tub, river-rock, fireplace and wet bar.

Additional assets include a separate one story with loft caretakers residence, machinery building, large commercial dock, ramps and boardwalks.

Although 'Maude Island Retreat' would make an ideal boutique fishing and eco-adventure resort the present owners have mainly limited their use to corporate entertaining.
